How to make homemade chewy oats & honey granola bars (Tasty Tuesday Tip)

Hey Everybody! Today I decided to post about this yummy treat that I made the other day. Granola Bars are one of those snacks that most people love to eat, but they can be on the high calorie side and have lots of unhealthy fats. I like to eat them myself and try to find the ones that has some good ingredients. What I came to realize was that I can make my own version of the granola bars I love to eat!!! Sometimes we settle for just buying certain foods out of the store, but not realizing that it can be made in a healthier way if done yourself. One thing I will say is that I keep OATS on hand. They are very inexpensive and you can make so many different healthy snacks with them. Therefore, I always make sure I have some in the pantry weekly!!! Eating healthy and establishing a healthier lifestyle can be demanding at times, but can be done if you are willing to put in the work and preparation that it make take.

This recipe take literally 5 minutes to prepare, so you can easily get it done the night before work or even after work. If you are running late and need a quickย  breakfast, this can be something to grab on your way out the door and you still are getting nutrients. Most times, people grab donuts, honey buns, etc.. but they have NO nutritional value and are full of empty calories!!! I encourage you to try this and other recipes and make them yourself. Your body will thank you!!!

Here is what you will need:

  • Oats
  • Honey
  • Flax seed
  • Peanut Butter





Only need 4 ingredients for this recipe!!! So easy and simple.






Place oats in a bowl of course!!


Next, add your honey to the oats.


Flax Seed are good source of protein, fiber and other nutrients so why not throw a few in?


Next peanut butter was added to mixture. You can actually make these with almond butter! Be creative.


I added to my pan that was sprayed a little with canola oil. I did not have parchment paper, but do not think I needed to spray pan, but I did.


I spread mixture in the pan and placed in refrigerator until firmed up and was ready to cut in squares.


That is it!!! Chewy Granola Bars. This was easy to make.
